A Meritage High Performance Home has a SEER 15 air conditioner combined with an Energy Efficient Heat Pump. This combination will save over 20% - 40% of the energy used by a system 10 years old. A programmable thermostat will produce up to 30% of savings in your cooling and heating cost. Pre-setting your cooling and heating regulates your temperature in your home even when you are away. All Meritage High Performance Homes have a high efficient air management system exceeding new ANSI 62.2 home ventilation requirements. The high efficient air management system will include jump ducts. These will allow the transfer of air from one room to the next equalizing air pressure which will eliminate doors slamming or ugly marks on the carpet under the doors.
