  • How does it work?

    We’ve partnered with UTour to allow homebuyers to tour Meritage models outside of our normal business hours. When it’s time for your tour, you’ll use a special four-digit code to unlock the smart door lock on the model home’s front door and gain access. When your tour is complete, simply close the door securely behind you and the door will relock.

  • How long do I have to tour the home?

    Each self-guided tour lasts for one hour. For security purposes, your entry code only works during your appointment time frame, so be sure to arrive on time.

  • Can I tour multiple models in one UTour visit?

    In short, yes. If a community has multiple models equipped with UTour, simply schedule a UTour appointment for each home during the same time frame. Then we’ll send you unique entry codes to unlock each home during your appointment window.

  • Are self-guided tours available at all Meritage communities?

    For now, self-guided tours are only available in select communities. If they’re currently available in your favorite community, you’ll see “Self-Guided” listed as an option when you book a tour.

  • Why do I need to provide a driver's license?

    We ask that all homebuyers provide this form of identification so that we can verify their identity prior to the tour. We do not retain your information after your identity has been verified.

  • Will a Meritage team member be at the home during my tour?

    Typically, no; your tour is designed to be self-guided and outside of our normal business hours. But don’t fret. We’ll provide you with our contact info so you can reach out to a team member about questions and next steps.

  • What do I do if the door lock touchscreen isn’t responding or accepting my PIN?

    If the touchscreen is black, gently tap it with the back of your hand. Once numbers illuminate, enter your PIN.

    If you’ve attempted to access the home multiple times and the door lock is in “lockout” mode, simply wait 60 seconds before attempting again. If the door lock still won’t accept your PIN, confirm your appointment day and time. Then, contact a team member for further assistance.

  • Can I schedule a self-guided UTour during regular business hours?

    Typically, self-guided UTour appointments are reserved for extended hours; however, there may be special circumstances that require us to offer them during regular business hours as well. If that’s the case, you’ll see an announcement on the community page to let you know. If you need to schedule your tour during regular business hours but prefer not to take a guided tour with a team member, we recommend calling to schedule your appointment and sharing your preference ahead of time.
